Friday:Guggenheim Collection: The American Avant Garde opened at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni earlier this month, with a lineup drawn from New York’s roller skate-friendly* Guggenheim Museum. In conjunction with this exhibit, which examines American art from 1945-1980 with pieces by Warhol, de Kooning, Stella, Pollock, and Lichtenstein, among others, the Palazzo is hosting Ciao America!, a corresponding film series starting this weekend. Tonight at 9pm, head over to Via Nazionale for a screening of John Cassavetes’ debut film “Shadows”. Admission is 4 euro. The Guggenheim show runs until May 6th, and admission is 12.50
